ITINERARY
DAY 1 - Arrive Cochin
Our representative will assist you at the Cochin airport on arrival. Transfer to the hotel and check in. Cochin (also known as Kochi) is a city in southwest India’s coastal Kerala state. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbour and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Sites reflecting those influences include Fort Kochi, a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship. Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

DAY 2 - Cochin – Munnar (140 Kms /4 hrs )
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed on a tour of old Cochin. At Fort Kochi visit the most renowned Chinese Fishing Nets of Cochin, the St. Francis CSI Church, the oldest European church in India built in 1503, where the Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama was originally buried and pass by the Santa cruz Basilica, one of the finest and imposing churches in India. You also visit the Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town, and the Dutch Palace, with its beautiful mural paintings from the 17th century. Later Drive to Munnar –a breathtakingly beautiful haven of peace and tranquillity. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favoured summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. On arrival check into your hotel. Rest of the day free.

DAY 3 - Munnar
Early start. Proceed to the trek point. Go on a Half-day trekking passing through the rolling hills and sculpted Tea gardens of Munnar.  Gradual trek and hike through the tea plantations. View from top of the hill is spectacular. Savor the Picnic hamper. On the way back enjoy tea tasting session at a downtown café. Later the day visit Tea Museum which explains the history of Tea in Munnar – a good opportunity to get authentic tea dust and related products.

DAY 4 - Munnar
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free for a stroll through the Munnar, its lakes and tea gardens visit Mattupetty dam. Early afternoon drive to Swargammedu – as the name implies it is a heaven aboard. 20 acres of Virgin land where the host Eldho Pachilakadan is making a forest. See around the picturesque hill top. Understand the concepts of earthly architecture and sustainable living. Enjoy a wellness drink with organic bananas before you walk up the hill for the stunning sunset. Back to the hotel. DAY 5 - Munnar – Thekkady (120kms/31/2hrs)
Breakfast. Drive through the long and windy roads, arrive Thekkady – one of the best-known wild life Centers in India and picturesque with unending Chains of hills and spice-scented plantations. A Spice plantation tour is an opportunity to see why the Kerala cuisine is so different from most of the other Indian cuisines. The tour gives you a chance to see cardamom, pepper, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and many other varieties of spices. Evening enjoy Boat ride on Lake Periyar.  The Periyar wild life sanctuary is the only one of its kind in India where one can watch wildlife at close quarters in natural habitat from the safety of a boat. Enjoy a stroll through the spice town of Kumily.

DAY 6 - Thekkady – Kumarkom (140 Kms/4 hrs)
Breakfast on board. Drive downhill to Kumarakom. Slumbers on the banks of the famous Vembanad Lake, which is a part of Kuttanad (‘granary’ of Kerala). The Vembanad Lake with its majestic canals, streams and distributaries along its banks, weave an intricate and enchantingly beautiful web. The bird sanctuary here is an ornithologist’s paradise and a favourite haunt of migratory birds. Rest of the day free to spend at the Resort and indulge in activities like village walk, canoe rides, sunset cruise or a Rejuvenating Ayurveda Massage (Payable Locally) Dinner & Overnight stay.

DAY 7 - Kumarkom – Alleppy (45kms /1 hr)
Breakfast at the Hotel and Transfer to your Private house Boat. The best way to glimpse village life and the scenery along the lush lined backwaters of Kerala is to ply the region’s intricate web of rivers, lagoons, canals, and lakes in a kettuvallam – traditional Keralan houseboat. Cruise through the fabled backwaters – the undisputed highlight of the region.  Enjoy a sumptuous Kerala Lunch. You’ll pass the backwaters, as well as tiny, colourful towns that typically export coconut husk products, and fishing villages, while being surrounded by tall coconut trees.. Dinner and Overnight on Board.

DAY 8 - Kumarakom-Kovalam (190km/5hrs)
Wake up to the tunes of birds, Breakfast at the Hotel check out and drive to Kovalam. One of the World Renowned Beaches. Kovalam shot into limelight in the early seventies with arrivals of the masses of hippies on their way to Ceylon in the Hippie Trail.  This exodus started the transformation of a casual fishing village of Kerala into one of the most important tourist destinations in all India. Arrive, Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 9 - Kovalam – Kanyakumari – Kovalam

Breakfast at the hotel. Later the day, leave for Cape comorin at the southernmost Tip of India. Enroute Visit Padmanabapuram Palace and sudeendram temple. Optional visit to Vivekananda Rock or spend time on the beach and for local Visits. Gandhi Memorial and the Kanykumari temple is of interest.
Back to hotel Overnight stay.


DAY 10 - Kovalam – Trivandrum – Kovalam
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the city of Trivandrum, see world’s richest temple Sree Padmanabhasway, The Kuthiramalika Palace and the Napier Museum Grounds. Back to the hotel Rest of the day free for Sun and Sand on the beach. Overnight stay.


DAY 11 - Kovalam Departure
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Trivandrum International Airport to connect your homebound flight.
